Saint Michael College of Allied Health (SMCAH) is incorporated in Virginia as an educational institution. The College is certified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Practical Nursing Program. Saint Michael College of Allied Health’s Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The College’s main campus in the District of Columbia houses both the Practical Nursing Program and the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. Saint Michael College of Allied Health is currently engaged in the process of determining eligibility to apply for accreditation status (pre-application) with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education, including distance education, correspondence education programs, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States. MSCHE accepts complaints and third-party comments for institutions engaged in the application and candidacy process.
